Bristol’s very own Sam Smith, known for his moniker Ploy, is no stranger to the British underground scene. His debut EP on UK label giant Hessle Audio ‘Sala One Five’ in 2016 put him on the map of UK modern club music. Since then, he has followed through with releases that commanded raving reviews on renowned labels Hemlock, Timedance and L.I.E.S. records and launched his own Deaf Test label in 2021.

The now South London-based producer has consistently blessed us with club bangers and stunning tunes over the years. His sounds are as hypnotic and funky as they are inventive and intelligent with groovy polyrhythmic drums, trippy effects, intense builds and meticulously placed vocal samples at the heart. His label’s debut release ‘Rayhana’ was nothing short of spectacular, balancing between the fine line of preciseness and mania. It is safe to say that Ploy’s nature as a producer is also a foreshadowing of him as a DJ.
Ploy’s DJ sets are filled with head turning moments and senses of wonder, weaving through different ranges of genres and tempos while maintaining an impressive equilibrium of grooves and experimentals. Such qualities earned him places at festivals like Dekmantel Selector, Outlook Festival, Boiler Room Festival Amsterdam.
