Sound, image, and light collide in Friction AV, an audiovisual performance by three artists where each element becomes part of the same constantly shifting system.

Nairobi-born producer Slikback creates a sound driven by physical impact, heavy bass pressure, and tension moving between gqom, dubstep, hardcore techno, dark cinematic atmospheres, and game-inspired textures.

Alongside him, maltdisney and Tasya work with visuals, light, and live video, allowing sound and image to transform alongside one another in real time.

Rather than visuals simply accompanying the music, every element becomes part of the performance sound affecting space, light reshaping the atmosphere, and images pulling the audience deeper into the world of Friction AV. (Commissioned by Lunchmeat Festival)
