Human Spectrum is a Bangkok-based collective specialising in visual arts, lighting and experiences. Visual artists, lighting designers and programmers, stage designers, 3D artists and motion designers, working within the human visible spectrum to deliver an immersive optical experience.
They are a music collective as much as a visual one — collecting, DJing, playing and producing — and read each line-up and timetable to tune the intensity of light and image to the music. In the studio they pair musical frequencies (Hz) with light wavelengths (nm), keeping a growing catalogue of colour palettes for different musical scales.
Members are trained as live performers rather than equipment operators: listening, watching and reading the dance floor, then answering it in light. After the Magma stage at DIAGE 2024, they are back on lighting: this year Human Spectrum lights the DJ Stage, with visuals by SquareDots. and BACK // SYNC.
